El Chapo’s wife claims she got death threat after stepson’s release

El Chapo’s beauty-queen wife claims she received a death threat following the botched capture of one of the drug kingpin’s sons, according to a report.

Emma Coronel, who is married to jailed Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzmán, shared a chilling message she said was sent on social media after her stepson, Ovidio Guzman Lopez, was briefly arrested Thursday in the country’s Sinaloa state, Mundo Hispanico reported.

“I wish they had killed him like the f–king dog that he is and all the Mexican drug dealers,” the message said, according to the outlet. “You and your whole family will be dead.”

The drug lord’s wife said that she was taking the social media threat seriously, but later deleted her screenshot of the message, according to news outlet InfoBae.

Lopez — who was wanted in the US on drug-trafficking charges — was released when the Sinaloa cartel gunmen overpowered Mexican authorities in a wild shootout.

Officials said that 21 people were wounded and 27 inmates escaped a city prison during the chaos.

Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Friday that a decision was made to prioritize citizen’s lives over Lopez’s capture.

“Catching a criminal cannot be more valuable than people’s lives,” he said. “They made a decision and I supported it.”
