NYPD cop who ‘protected’ El Chapo’s wife needs GoFundMe for bail

The cop who moonlighted as bodyguard for Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s wife, and now faces cocaine-slinging charges, apparently didn’t save the proceeds from his alleged crimes.

Pals of Ishmael Bailey, 36, are trying to scrape together $25,000 for the accused peddler’s bail — arguing he’s “another ‘brother’ wrongfully accused.”

“Ishmael’s name has been attached to outlandish, false accusations in the media as of late,” reads a GoFundMe page set up on behalf of Bailey seeking $7,000. Courtney Turner, who started the page, did not respond to a request for comment.

Bailey was busted this week in an undercover sting after agreeing to “provide security for the transportation of cocaine” for two bulk-drug deliveries in Queens — in return for a promised total of $7,500, according to court papers.

“The defendant would be paid $1,500 cash for each kilogram he transported,” the criminal complaint against him says.

Bailey is due back in court on Oct. 3.
