Mafia murder investigations lead to eight raids and four arrests

More than 100 police officers worked on the investigation, which is continuing and could see further arrests.

Four people have been arrested and eight raids carried out in an investigation into a series of slayings of people linked to organized crime.

The investigation, dubbed Préméditer, was launched in January and aimed at solving the murders of Rocco Sollecito, Vincenzo Falduto, Giuseppe Falduto and Lorenzo Giordano in 2016.

Wednesday’s operation resulted in the arrests of Jonathan Massari, 38; Dominico Scarfo, 47; Guy Dion, 48 and Marie-Josée Viau, 44. A pair of raids last month in Laval and Nova Scotia netted investigators a collection of rifles, handguns, automatic weapons, ammunition, silencers as well as a motorcycle police allege was used in the murder of Rocco Sollecito.
