El Chapo’s wife trying to launch a fashion brand named after the drug kingpin

Chapo chic!

The wife of convicted drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is attempting to launch a clothing line named after him.

Emma Coronel posted a message on her Instagram page this week, inviting “clothing designers who are starting out” to join the project.

“We have received a lot of responses from designers who are interested,” Coronel wrote Thursday. “We are very happy with the response.”

The clothing line would be called “El Chapo Guzmán: JGL” and initially sold online.

“My goal is to project my style and Joaquin’s, but to please everybody,” Coronel said. “We are still not going to give out details about the look, because we want it to be a surprise.”

Guzman, 62, was found guilty in February of murder conspiracy charges, drug trafficking, money laundering and firearms possession. He’s awaiting sentencing and faces life in prison.
